What we are looking for:

Seed and Sparrow Design is seeking a Landscape Technologist to assist in the production of conceptual and technical drawings for residential and institutional projects. We are seeking a technically savvy team member who is passionate about creating positive environmental impact through their work. This is a part-time 1 year contract with the potential to renew as a full time permanent position. As Okanagan resident who can work at the office 2 days a week is preferred, with the 3rd day being flexible for you to choose to work from the office or from home (laptop, monitor, software license will be provided for an Okanagan resident to facilitate working from home option). 

Responsibilities and Duties:

At SSD, you will receive conceptual and technical direction on all phases of a project under the supervision of and in partnership with the Project Lead Designer. As an essential part of the team, you will assist with the execution of the necessary drawings to communicate a project's proposed direction and intent. When not actively producing drawings for a project you will support the development and improvement of our in-house digital design systems and methods.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Landscape Architectural Technology diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years of professional experience preferred

Knowledge and skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software - Vectorworks preferred

  • Proficiency in graphic visualization programs (Adobe Suite, SketchUp, or others) considered an asset

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Motivated and dedicated to producing high quality work

  • Willingness to share knowledge and learn from others
